My Nightforce Journey
From Crypto Skeptic to Midnight Ambassador Leader
I was a "cash is king" guy. Crypto? Not for me. Then COVID hit, and something clicked. I started paying attention, and I was blown away. That curiosity led me down the rabbit hole YouTube deep dives, installing wallets, locking up NFTs for tokens I didn't understand. Yes, I even ended up in Safemoon. We all make mistakes.
Those early lessons were costly. I got hacked on Ethereum. I connected a wallet to a clone site on Solana. Lost a fair bit. Painful at the time, but it taught me something invaluable: privacy isn't optional—it's essential. That experience shaped my entire outlook.
Then I discovered Midnight. For once, I felt early. The vision around programmable privacy and selective disclosure resonated deeply. When Lozza—a wee dynamo and trailblazer here in Scotland—shouted me to get involved, I said "aye, let's go."
From day one, the vibe was different. I jumped into chat, had a laugh, turned up to live events, and soaked up the news. The Academy courses were awesome, and the community was incredibly helpful. Next thing you know, you're deeply invested—not just in the tech, but in the people. Everyone wants to support you.
Now I'm learning about AI, diving deeper into knowledge, and even joining workshops with the mighty Charles himself—who's as funny as he is smart. The team—Jack, Eva, Sabrina—are always there to guide (or hold me back when I'm spouting too much madness!). The mods are amazing. The core crew—Tom, Lozza, Dips, Spy, Holly, DVNC, Omega, ET, Phelps—feel like family. And the wider community, always vibing with Maestro, Teksun, Steph, Sages, and so many others.
Who says work can be this easy and fun? All we have to do is show up and promote what we love.
If you're wondering if it's for you come give it a go.
