From Crypto Novice to Nightforcer: My 10-Month Journey as a Midnight Moderator
From a failed moderation gig in 2024 to finding a family in the Midnight ecosystem—here is my story as Dips (Midnight Moderator)
We all start somewhere in crypto. For some, it begins with trading meme coins at 3 AM. For others, it’s a late-night YouTube rabbit hole about blockchain technology.
For me, it started with a dream to manage communities and a moderation gig that never was.
The Rocky Start: Late 2024
Back in late 2024, my best friend recommended me for a community moderation role on a brand-new project. Our Discord and Slack workspaces were fully configured, the excitement was high, and I was ready to dive in. Then, out of nowhere—bam! The project failed to secure its funding, and the entire endeavor collapsed before launching.
I was crushed, but my curiosity about crypto remained strong. Having previously managed active sports communities across football, cricket, tennis and Formula 1. I knew that community management was my true passion. I spent the following months taking online courses, watching YouTube tutorials, and applying for moderation roles while waiting for the right opportunity.
“Destiny has its own plan. Hang in there tight, because you never know what life’s next move will be.”
Finding Midnight: October 2025
In October 2025, after nearly a year of searching, I, by the help of a friendly neighbour, received an unexpected interview invite with Jacob, my current manager at Midnight Network. That interview led to a conversation with Jack—the Head of Community Operations and founder of the Nightforce Ambassador Program and ten months later, I am still here at Midnight and loving every moment.
I spent my initial two months learning the core technology of Midnight. Officially, Midnight is a fourth-generation blockchain designed for real-world adoption through programmable privacy and a predictable cost model.
To put it simply: Midnight solves privacy on public ledgers.
Older privacy chains like Monero or Zcash are often rigid and complex for average users. Midnight changes this by utilizing selective disclosure, allowing users to prove what they need to prove without exposing their entire transaction history.
Falling in Love with the Nightforce
While Midnight has incredible technical teams, hackathons, and build clubs, my true calling was the Nightforce Ambassador Program. Jack launched the program under a simple motto: One Team, One Dream.
Watching this community grow from late 2025 to August 2026 has been incredible. Ambassadors are hosting local events, running X Spaces, broadcasting YouTube live streams, and building awesome creative projects.
We are truly aging like fine wine.
From “Just a Mod” to a Nightforcer
Being a moderator isn’t just about banning scammers in Discord—though trust me, there are plenty of them. Over time, my role naturally evolved from moderating chat logs to becoming a core contributor within the Nightforce.
I went from answering basic community questions to co hosting some of the weekly Nightforce calls with one of our amazing managers, i.e., Eva Rodriguez to co-hosting X Spaces alongside Spy, who I affectionately call my “crypto mother.” I am even preparing to host my own local Midnight community event in Mumbai, India, this coming November with an amazing Nightforce Leader from India, itself.
Along the way, I found a true family in our internal secret team—the DICKS (Discord Information and Community Knowledge Specialists). You thought something else? I know you did.
Well a GTA 6 theme represensation of the DICKS…
Here are a few of the amazing people who made this journey so special:
>Omega & dvnc: The Aussie machines. They are always on duty, keeping the server safe, engaging and running things smoothly.
>TomJon: The veteran of the server. Even though I am a third of his age, he treats me like a best friend. My inspiration, My Motivation. The Man, the Myth, the Legend!
>Queen Holly: Endlessly sweet and always around to support community members.
>Spy: My “crypto mother.” She is deeply involved in the Build Club and Nightforce, and is way cooler than my strict birth mother!
>ET: Our legend from Finland. He is a server asset who puts out operational fires whenever needed.
>Scottishking: The meme and GIF king. Hilarious on the outside, but one of the smartest and most inspiring people in our team. King is in his name and his personality.
>Lozza: A legendary Nightforce leader. Bringer of massive community experience across countless servers—and absolute gamer energy.
>Alex Phelps: Senior mod, but calling him “just a mod” is an understatement. Hogwarts has Harry Potter, but the DICKS have Alex—the absolute wizard of community operations.
Looking Ahead….
I used to view myself as just a normal guy trying to get a moderation gig. However, this incredible team and community make me feel like part of something much bigger.
We have accomplished so much over the past ten months, but we are just getting started. Whether it is our upcoming Mumbai event, new stage calls, or welcoming the next wave of ambassadors, I am beyond excited for what lies ahead.
To Jack, the moderation team, and every Nightforcer across the globe: thank you for making this journey unforgettable.

Hey, this is so great! I can feel the journey.
